Live Performances
Matt Nichols performs across Virginia as One Man Bass Band, bringing a unique solo bass experience to breweries, coffee shops, markets, and private events primarily throughout the 757 and Hampton Roads area.
Each set is thoughtfully arranged and performed using a six-string bass, a live looping setup, with a range of effects. The drum machine, in the RC-300 loop station, or as he calls it, RC-3PO, helps drive the rhythm as he layers parts in real time, building full instrumental pieces from the ground up while blending rhythm, harmony, and melody into a complete sound.
Rather than relying on backing tracks or pre-recorded sequences, everything is played live and structured to flow as a cohesive set. The result is music that feels both polished and organic. It’s just one instrument expanded into something much bigger.
Whether you’re stopping in at a local venue or planning a private event, the focus is always on creating a relaxed, engaging musical experience.
